ravenpaw versus tigerclaw

Tigerclaw ran through the undergrowth, determined to kill that pesky apprentice once and for all. 

Ravenpaw was too much of a risk, now.

It was almost a pity.

Ravenpaw ran until his breath was sucked from his lungs, and even then, the dark tabby rose like shadows from above him -- closing in --

Screeching as claws hit his shoulders heavily, Ravenpaw scrambled desperately.

"You always have been weak, Ravenpaw," Tigerclaw hissed, claws sinking into the dirt where the thin tom writhed out of his hold. It didn't irritate him -- rather, it only made Tigerclaw feel a bit more pity for him.

"No!" the little black tom yowled, fear arcing to his throat. "I promise -- I promise I won't say anything! Y-You know I would never!"

"Do you think I'm rat-brained, you piece of mousefodder?" he hissed, sinking his claws deliciously into dark, dark fur -- warmth gushing around his paws as the pathetic thing screeched.

Ravenpaw yowled, the agony slicing through his shoulder, his chest like fire -- burning like nothing he'd ever felt as he jerked desperately.

Tigerclaw saw the struggle leave the dark-furred apprentice, little by little... the tiny speck of fight in his pathetic body draining out along with the blood that spilled fresh into the blackened earth. His claws dug in deeper.

Ravenpaw felt the jaws around his neck and kicked -- writhed --

For what it was worth, he got little enjoyment from his jaws closing around the delicate throat -- feeling the rapid-pounding heartbeats around his maw. 

If only he hadn't seen...

But there was nothing to be done, now. 

With a single, devastating bite, Tigerclaw's fangs sliced through his apprentice's neck.
